The UHBVN Building is special building which sets the core goals of energy efficiency and sustainability along with the modern architectural innovation and environmental responsibility. This building, serving as the head office of UHBVN, is notably the first building in the country to comply with the Super ECBC (Energy Conservation Building Code) standards, setting a new benchmark in sustainable construction.
At the core of its design, the building employs a unique volumetric concept. This concept is meticulously tailored to manage orientation control concerning the sun. Such a design significantly aids in reducing the building's energy consumption by minimizing the need for artificial lighting and maximizing natural light. Additionally, it incorporates strategic zoning of functions, further enhancing its energy efficiency.
One of the most remarkable features of the UHBVN Building is its use of a highly insulated wall made of Thermally Insulated Concrete. This material choice contributes to a highly resistive wall with a high Resistance value, effectively reducing heat gain and loss. This means the building requires less energy for heating or cooling, contributing to its net-zero energy status.
The building also integrates advanced technologies like UVGI (Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation) Systems. These systems play a crucial role in maintaining indoor air quality by neutralizing airborne pathogens and pollutants, thus ensuring a healthier environment for the occupants.
Furthermore, the UHBVN Building is a model of Active Energy Control. It incorporates systems and practices that actively manage and reduce energy consumption. These include smart lighting, energy-efficient HVAC systems, and other state-of-the-art technologies designed to minimize energy waste while maintaining optimal operational efficiency.

Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam UHBVN Head Office

The Reserve Bank of India's new building in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, exemplifies Green Building principles, contributing significantly to a Sustainable Environment. As a regional center for Uttarakhand, parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and the surrounding regions, it is built on a 4 Acre site with its volumes designed as per Hill architectural principles. The project includes office areas, ombudsman offices, a ceremonial banking hall, annexe staff areas, India's first automated Mega Vault, a parking building, and accommodation for watch and ward staff, all designed to meet diverse functional needs while prioritizing sustainability. The project targets Platinum Green Building Rating from IGBC

A key aspect of the building's design is its adherence to Passive and Low Energy Architectural principles. The architecture includes a 15-foot floor-to-floor height, allowing for expansive interior spaces and enhanced air circulation. High windows & Light coloured interior finishes maximize the influx of natural light, reducing the need for artificial lighting, further promoting energy conservation. Energy efficiency is also achieved through the use of double glazing and thermal break windows. Double glazing prevents heat loss in winter and keeps interiors cool in summer, while thermal break windows helps minimize thermal bridging, further enhancing energy efficiency. Further Energy Efficient water based chillers work on a partial heat load due to the high insulation and Cavity walls.

The Interior Design supports sustainable goals, using materials and finishes that enhance the building's aesthetic appeal and energy performance. Light-colored finishes throughout the building reflect natural light, improving its distribution and creating a pleasant working environment. The office layout ensures that all areas receive ample natural light, with multiple zones designed for optimal functionality. The triple-height banking hall in the centre features a pyramidal roof with two levels of clearstory lighting and a third level below of slit windows, ensuring ample natural light at all times within all parts of the hall. All these features are introduced while keeping Green Building principles in consideration.

Shriram Junior High School

The Atal School of Engineering, Management and Entrepreneurship at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi is a flagship institution built on an area of 29000 sqm which has been promoted by the Govt. of India in the respective academic fields. It has been designed to harmonize with its natural environment and integrates with its rocky landscape to develop its special aesthetic and its open spaces.

A significant feature of this project is the Circular lecture theatre Block, which is designed with variable seating capacities. The adaptability of these spaces ensures that the infrastructure can support diverse academic activities, from large lectures to smaller, interactive sessions and adapt to different batch sizes and teaching methodologies. Open Cutouts have been created in the spaces wherever one encounters visible surface rocks, to create informal sitouts, exhibition & display spaces. Additionally, the building's design emphasizes energy efficiency through elements like promotion of cross ventilation and natural illumination via narrower floor plates. These features reduce the need for artificial lighting and air conditioning and promotes open-to-air passages instead of closed box planning. The Building is designed primarily from a walking perspective with G+3 storeys interconnected by wide open stairwells.

Furthermore, the project is designed as per the IGBC Gold Rating. This approach is evident in the use of local materials and the building's orientation predominantly towards North-South to minimize summer sun , while taking in winter sun. The Academic Spaces, Laboratories and Faculty spaces have all been planned around open Courts to take benefit of light entering from both sides of the block. 

School of Engineering & Management and Entrepreneurship

The Malviya National Institute of Technology's (MNIT) initiative in Jaipur was planned as the region's first Net-Zero building project. Currently an unbuilt project of the firm, this has a built area of 35,000 square feet within the MNIT Jaipur Campus. This project has been planned as a demonstration of sustainable construction techniques and renewable energy integration into a building. As a building including laboratories for the Energy department of the MNIT, it is situated to facilitate cutting-edge research in crucial areas like solar energy, biomass, low-energy cooling, and related fields, i.e. creating a Living lab.

A meticulous approach to energy modeling using Design Builder and e-Quest software is emphasized. Energy simulations are crucial for understanding the building's potential energy consumption and identifying strategies to achieve net-zero energy status. 

Being in Jaipur, at the cusp of the Composite and Arid zones, it is designed partly into the ground with a recessed courtyard generating cool air ventilation into the surrounding built spaces. Common walls and mutual shading from one block to the other, together with shading on common spaces, hopes to create an active, lively and comfortable academic atmosphere. Thermal energy generated by twin dish collectors is utilized to run the VAM chillers and create low energy cooling. Radiant cooling is planned through cool water piping incorporated in the structure.  These and other sustainable building techniques like earth air tunnels, insulating materials are demonstrated in the various laboratories / live labs.  This building is poised not only to serve as a hub for groundbreaking research but also as a living example of sustainable architecture and energy efficiency, inspiring similar initiatives across the country.
